Since "Warm Water Under A Red Bridge" soon starts being shown, Koji Yakusho had interviews from lots of
press about this film during the two days from September 11 to 12.

During the middle of October he will join the campaigning activities for this film, visiting Osaka, Nagoya,
Fukuoka, Sapporo and Toyama where the film was shot.

At the time of the interviews from the press, Yakusho heard complimentary comments that it was quite
interesting and full of humour.

Please look forward to this film starting from November 3.
On the starting day, Yakusho will stand on the stage to make a speech at the cinema, Marunouchi Shanzerize in

We hope this message finds you all fine.
What we see and hear these days seems to be about bin Ladin or Tuliban, which makes us feel very uneasy.

Under such an uncertain circumstances, Koji Yakusho started campaign activities for "Warm Water Under A
Red Bridge", which is due to be shown from November 3.

He will be visiting Sapporo on the 19th, Fukuoka on the 11th, Osaka on the 12th and the 13th, Nagoya on the
18th, Toyama on the 19th, and Himi, where the film was shoto, on the 20th. In the morning of the 13th, he will
appear in a TV talk show, called "Itsudemo Emi O".

From September 28th to October 7th, he worked for a NHK TV drama called, "Vitamine F" (directed by
Yoichiro Takahashi).  It is an omunibus drama consisting of five episodes and Yakusho starred in one of them,
entitled, "Secchan". This drama will be shown next spring on NHK.
On 20th, October, Yakusho's campaign activities concerning "Warm Water Under A Red Bridghe" came to an
end.
In Himi City, the last campaign place, many people came to see the film: it was shown three times.  During the
film showing, we felt a good response about the film: we heard the audience laugh from time to time.

We feel that the film was completed under the cooperation by the people in Himi City.
Yakusho had lunch at the inn, where he stayed while the film was shot.  He had a hear-warming welcome,
enjoying a happy reunion with the people there.  We found the dishes
served at the inn quite delicious.  We recommend that you should come to try the food, if you have a chance.

"Warm Water Under A Red Bridge" will start being shown from November 3 nationwide.
On that day, Shohei Imamura, Koji Yakusho, Misa Shimizu, Mitsuko Baisho and Yukiya Kitamura will each
make a speech on the stage from 11:00 a.m. at Marunouchi Chamseleyse
in Ginza, Tokyo.

About Yakusho's new film, as many people may now know, according to the newspaper report, he will star in a
film called "Kyushitsu Asama Sanso Jiken" by Masato Harada. The film is based on the book entitled,
"Rengo-Sekigun Asama Sanso Jiken" ( Red Army Mountain Villa Incident) written by Nobuyuki Sasa, who
directed the actual rescue work at the villa as chief police officer, when some employees were held hostage
inside the villa by a group of radical students. It will be released in May, 2002 at Toei Movie Theaters.

How have you been?
I am now in Niigata Prefecture for the shooting of a film called "The Choice of Hercules" (Totsunyuseyo
Asama Sanso Jiken)
We wish more snow here for the shooting.  All the cast and staff in connection with the shooting are now in
elevated mood, hoping that  you will enjoy the film.

Talking of puppies, I told  you about the death of one of the three new born puppies.
The fact is that another died within 24 hours.  I tried to help her with mouth to mouth resuscitation.
It was a female puppy.  I named her Hanako and encouraged her to survive in vain.

The last surviving  male puppy has left for his new home the other day.  He has lived with us for several
months.  He was a  cute puppy.  I pray that he will have a happy dog's life with his new keeper.

Among rather gloomy news, I would like to celebrate Ichiro's becoming MVP and Princess Masako's new born
baby girl!  May you have a lot of  happy things!

I have to get up early at five  o'clock tomorrow morning so I will go to bed without any hustle bustle. Good
night.
